The px range of aluminium electrolytic capacitors has been specially developed to give professional loudspeaker engineers a further option when designing a crossover. The range has been designed to provide characteristics midway between the successful PW and SA ranges already supplied by the company. The aluminium electrolytic capacitors are constructed from a 250 volt rated and is spindle wound, given special heat treatment and then have insulated copper terminals hand soldered to give the best possible connection.
The inherently low dissipation and dielectric absortion factors of polypropylene allied with an excellent mechanical stability, results in an extremely detailed sound. The construction results in a low self inductance and ESR and the devices are highly stable with respect to temperature and frequency.
These aluminium electrolytic capacitors and components are ideally suited for professional and defence applications. The housing consists of glass filled P.B.T cases and epoxy resin encapsulant. Both materials fulfil the requirement of flammability standard U.L.94, the former for 0.7 mm samples, the latter for 3.2 mm samples.
